Business overview

By using various derivatives such as futures, options and swaps, Korea Investment & Securities devises and sells products that meet the needs of its customers. At a time when customers have not been able to find places for investment owing to the continued low-interest rates and unstable stock market in Korea, Korea Investment & Securities has developed and sells various forms of products to produce a new investment paradigm.

Our Strength & Perspectives

Leading company in Korean OTC Market

Korea Investment & Securities is the leader in the stock market industry, particularly in areas related to over-the-counter derivatives. It is also the winner in the over-the-counter derivatives market, with various record-breaking performances in stock price-linked derivatives. Its proven capability in product development is also well-recognized in the market.

Another Quantum Leap Forward in 2005

Based on its superior performance, Korea Investment & Securities is now gearing up for a second leap forward in 2005. In order to improve its capability to develop investment products with its own hedging abilities, we have newly hired additional PhD holders in mathematics and engineering in order to enhance our pricing and hedging capabilities. Korea Investment & Securities has also been making efforts to secure the top position in the market for derivative- combined securities, which were classified as securities after the revision of the Law on Stock Trading in March 2005. Derivative-combined securities is a broader term that encompasses not only derivatives based on individual stocks or stock indices but also those based on interest rates, exchange rates, real assets, etc.. This means that securities companies can now sell more diverse products besides equity-linked securities (ELS). Also, the strengthening of our sales network as a result of the company merger is expected to enable Korea Investment & Securities to make another advance in the Korean securities market.
